Researcher

Department of Animal Biosciences We are seeking a researcher who wants to work on developing new and innovative detection methods for identifying chemical and infectious substances, as well as various types of biomarkers for pathogen detection. The long-term goal is to develop detection methods that can be used in research but above all provide practical benefits through routine use outside academia—for improved food safety, enhanced animal and public health, and optimized pharmaceutical treatment. This position provides excellent conditions to establish your own research line, and it is expected that the recruited researcher will actively seek external funding to ensure long-term financing of the research direction. About the Job At the Department of Food Safety, Infection Biology, Pharmacology and Toxicology (LIFT), we work across a broad range of subjects: food safety, bacteriology, parasitology, virology, One Health, pharmacology, and toxicology. What unites all these fields is an interest and need to develop new innovative detection methods for biological molecules as well as chemical and infectious substances. In many cases, it would be desirable for these detection methods to be designed so they can be used in field conditions. LIFT is now recruiting a researcher in the field of developing innovative detection methods to intensify our work on these issues and to increase collaboration between the different subjects at our department. The researcher position is fully funded for four years, and the recruited researcher is expected during this time to work actively on seeking external research grants to ensure long-term financing of this research direction. The work will be conducted in close collaboration with existing researchers at LIFT, and therefore the person we seek must have excellent collaborative skills. Duties include planning and conducting research initiatives, presenting research results and writing scientific articles, supervising students and doctoral candidates, conference participation, actively working to obtain external research funding, and some administrative work. We are looking for someone who wants to work on developing new innovative detection methods with the long-term goal of improved food safety, enhanced animal and public health, and optimized pharmaceutical treatment. The focus is on identifying biomarkers for detection of pathogens, as well as chemical and infectious substances and other biological molecules. Your Background We seek someone with a scientific background and a doctoral degree in one of the scientific areas we work with at LIFT (food safety, bacteriology, parasitology, virology, One Health, pharmacology, and toxicology). It is a requirement that you have your own experience with independent, practical laboratory work in advanced method development within one of these scientific areas. The experience should include development, optimization, and validation of molecular, enzymatic, or cell-based analytical methods. Since it is a stated ambition that the developed methods should also be able to provide practical benefits outside academia, we would like to see that you have documented experience working with innovation and commercialization, as well as research-related work in regulatory environments where the quality, documentation, usability, and acceptance of new analytical methods outside academia have been in focus. We are looking for someone with strong personal motivation for research work and a long-term ambition to build your own academic research line. Furthermore, you need to have good ability to collaborate with many people, as we have the ambition for this to be an interdisciplinary effort that includes all subjects at LIFT. It is a merit if you have scientific experience (e.g., your own research work, grant applications, teaching) from several (at least two) of the subjects we work with at LIFT. Furthermore, it is a merit if you have documented experience working with innovation and commercialization. For this position, it is required that you speak and write Swedish fluently and have good knowledge of English. The position will be offered to the person who, after a qualitative overall assessment, is considered to have the best conditions to carry out and develop the current work tasks and contribute to positive development of the operation. About Us The Department of Animal Biosciences (HBIO) is part of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science and is responsible for education, research, and postgraduate studies in several basic and applied scientific areas. These areas include anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, pathology, pharmacology, toxicology, breeding and genetics, immunology, bacteriology, virology, parasitology, epizootiology, comparative medicine, food safety, and One Health. Our research encompasses everything from production animals to sports and companion animals, laboratory animals, and wildlife. The department's researchers work across the full spectrum from molecular mechanisms and microbiology to the structure, function, and behavior of whole animals, and how these are affected by breeding, physical activity, management, production, stress, environmental factors, and disease. Youth Educator at Humana Supported Housing Gothenburg

Would you like to be offered an exciting and developmental job while working to give people a good life every day? Would you also like the opportunity to develop at a company where commitment, joy, and responsibility are core values? Then you have the opportunity to apply for a job with us at Humana. In this role, you will work with us toward our vision – Everyone has the right to a good life. About Us Humana Supported Housing Gothenburg supports young people aged 16–20 with varying needs – from those who need support after a difficult upbringing or substance abuse, to unaccompanied young people navigating a new society. The supported housing's main goal and purpose is to train and prepare young people for the future. Through practical and emotional support, youth educators create security in everyday life. We also work with enhanced supported housing based on a level system where young people advance when they have demonstrated and are assessed as having integrated a number of skills and knowledge. We base our approach on learning psychology principles where functional behaviors are reinforced, new knowledge about society's structure is taught, and rights and responsibilities are clarified. Before a young person moves in, we work together with them and social services to develop a goal-oriented implementation plan that sets the framework for the joint work to be carried out during the housing period. We work primarily in teams with youth educators and coordinators, but some assignments are carried out independently, which is why it is important that you enjoy working autonomously. You largely set your own schedule and manage your time based on your assignments. On-call service may be part of the position. About the Position As an employee, you play a key role in young people's journey toward independent adult life. You are responsible for support and guidance to the young people you are a contact person for. This includes, among other things, ensuring that an implementation plan and weekly planning are drawn up, evaluated, and followed up regularly. The work includes motivational conversations, pedagogical support in daily life management, information about society, participation in contacts with authorities and other public bodies, and help maintaining or establishing social relationships. The work also includes documentation/record-keeping in IDOK. Since many of our young people attend school during the day, some meetings take place in the afternoons and evenings, which means some evening and weekend work. Employment Terms The position is 100%. We apply individual salary setting and other compensation according to collective agreement. Start date for the position is by agreement. Who Are You? As a person, you are responsible, relationship-building, flexible, and secure. In this role, it is important that you demonstrate strong commitment. The work involves close and trustful collaboration with your colleagues, commissioners, and partners, so you have good communication and collaboration skills. You have the ability to make decisions independently, prioritize tasks, and conduct structured follow-up conversations. You are flexible, structured, positive, and unpretentious. We place great emphasis on personal suitability. Before employment, a certificate from the criminal records register is provided. To apply for the position, you must: Be educated as a social pedagogue, social worker, treatment pedagogue, or have another completed 2-year post-secondary education that the employer deems equivalent Have experience working with young people Have good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing Have good computer skills as documentation is an important part of the work Have a B driver's license We Offer Engaged colleagues with strong cohesion driven by the desire to improve the quality of our operations. Humana has collective agreements, occupational pension, insurance, wellness allowance, and an internal learning portal with a wide range of training. What Happens Next?
