The residence is situated north of Kristinehamn and surrounded by beautiful natural environments with proximity to forests and lovely walking trails. The residential form belongs to the functional support operations area, which is part of the Support, Care and Social Services Administration in Kristinehamn, where we provide support under the LSS (Act Concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments). The administration's core activities are to provide care, support and rehabilitation for the elderly, as well as provide support and services to people with disabilities. Always with the individual's needs at the center. Kristinehamn is a city that combines the best of two worlds - the peace and community of a small town with good opportunities for work and personal development. Here, commute times are reduced, the pace becomes more balanced, and daily life becomes easier to manage. With Lake Vänern just around the corner awaits a beautiful and accessible archipelago environment, and we have a rich cultural and recreational life for both children and adults that makes it easy to live an active life. 4 position(s). JOB RESPONSIBILITIES As a residential support worker, you become an important part of the service user's daily life and have the opportunity to contribute to a safe, developmental, and meaningful existence. You work based on clear implementation plans and use pedagogical methods to create structure, security, and development. In your work, you need to be able to meet situations where the child expresses strong emotions or reacts strongly to their environment. This may involve challenging and sometimes acting-out behaviors. Your task is to, with calm, respect, and a low-affect approach, create safety, prevent situations from escalating, and help the child regain control and balance. An important part of the role is building a trusting relationship and being a stable and present adult. You need to be able to read situations, adapt your approach, and find effective strategies based on the child's needs and current state. Clarity, responsiveness, patience, and a solution-focused approach are therefore central to the work. We believe that development occurs through daring to try, evaluate, and learn together. As an employee with us, you are therefore not only expected to follow existing work methods, but also to be involved in developing them. You have the opportunity to come up with ideas, try new pedagogical strategies and activities, and together with colleagues follow up on what works and what can be done differently. You will also have an important role in sparking curiosity and creating opportunities for development. By thinking creatively, exploring new activities, and daring to try new things together with the child, you contribute to meaningful experiences based on the child's interests, abilities, and needs. In your role you will, among other things: • create and maintain a clear and understandable daily routine through visual support, structure, and adapted activities • provide support in social situations, communication, and everyday tasks • work preventatively and use low-affect strategies to manage and redirect challenging situations • document and follow up on work based on implementation plans and set goals. Working hours vary between day/evening, night, and weekends. QUALIFICATIONS For you to thrive and succeed in this role, personal qualities and personal suitability are of great importance in this recruitment. You are a confident and calm person who can create structure and tranquility even when situations become intense. You need to be flexible at the same time and be able to adapt your approach when conditions change. You have an understanding of children's different circumstances and can adapt your communication and approach based on the individual's needs and situation. Since the work sometimes involves encountering strong emotional expressions and acting-out behaviors, you need to be confident in standing firm, maintaining composure, and working preventatively. You enjoy collaborating and see the value in how different experiences and perspectives can contribute to better solutions. You dare to come up with ideas and together with colleagues try new work methods, evaluate results, and further develop the operations. Beyond this, we see that you have: • education as a support assistant, activity leader, educator, nursing assistant, or other education within the field that can be assessed as equivalent • knowledge of intellectual disabilities and autism spectrum disorders • good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish, as language is our primary tool • a B-class driver's license, as activities together with the child are part of the work. It is an advantage if you have previously worked in a similar role and have experience with low-affect approaches, preventative work, and strategies for managing and redirecting challenging situations. This position is subject to probation. Employment form: Permanent employment. Duration: Permanent, start date: 2026-11-09 or by agreement. If you are not a citizen of Sweden, the EU, EEA, or Switzerland and are offered employment, you must be able to provide proof that you have a valid work permit or are exempt from the requirement to have a work permit. In Kristinehamn Municipality, we work for active leadership and employee engagement. We offer you a full-time position, Monday through Friday, with flexible working hours. Assistive Technology Center Eastern Skåne is located in the Ängamöllan industrial area, with direct bus access nearby. We look forward to your application! Your Role with Us The technician position in Home Transport primarily involves delivering and picking up assistive devices at users' homes in regular or specialized housing, as well as assembly/disassembly and installation of various assistive devices. On Home Transport, you always work in pairs with another technician. Delivery and pickup of assistive devices are conducted using light trucks operated on a Class B driver's license. You start and end each workday at HÖS and take responsibility for your own documentation and work planning in our management system. At HÖS we support each other and may need to step in to other roles where needed. The unit currently consists of 19 permanent positions with two other specialist technician roles in addition to Home Transport: On Field Service, you work largely independently within your service zone in HÖS's operational area, responsible for repairs, adaptation of assistive devices, preventive maintenance, installations, inspections, and more at customers' homes and housing for elderly and disabled persons in Eastern Skåne.
