Support Assistant/Support Person at HVB Home within the Disability Services Sector

Do you want to make a real difference in a child's everyday life? We are now seeking two support assistants/support persons for our HVB home, where you will become an important part of a dedicated and competent team. Together, you will work to create safety, development, and good conditions for a child with special needs. You will become part of a work group consisting of 11 employees who together create a warm, inclusive, and developmental environment for both the child and each other. The child lives in their own apartment with a staff apartment in close proximity. The work involves varying working hours scheduled for day, evening, overnight on-call, and every other weekend. You will work according to a fixed rotating 8-week schedule. Your mission is to create safety, participation, and opportunities for as independent and meaningful a life as possible. The child has extensive care needs and requires supervision around the clock. The work is always carried out by two staff members simultaneously. Tasks include support with care, hygiene, and assistance with tube feeding. An important part of the work is providing social and educational support. We use among other things sign language as alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) to strengthen the child's communication and participation. In our work, we also apply a sense of coherence (KASAM)-inspired approach, where we focus on creating comprehensibility, manageability, and meaningfulness in the child's everyday life.
