The Orthopedic Operations Area (VO) at Skåne University Hospital (Sus) has over 500 employees and we are one of Sweden's largest orthopedic operations. Our patient group includes both children and adults. The Orthopedic Clinic in Malmö is sectioned so that the teams for shoulder, foot, sports medicine, spine, trauma, and osteoporosis have their primary operations based in Malmö. Approximately 600 visits are conducted each week at the Malmö clinic. Patients come to the clinic for new visits (assessment/investigation) and follow-up visits, for example after a previous operation. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES We are now seeking a nurse with an interest in orthopedics who wants to work with these patients. With us you will get varied and developmental clinic work within highly specialized orthopedics. A central part of the role is surgical planning and preoperative preparation, where you inform, prepare, and coordinate for surgery. You work closely with doctors, nursing assistants, surgical coordinators, day care, and care units and play an important role in creating a safe and efficient patient flow. You handle patient advice via phone and 1177, provide support before and after surgery, and handle acute matters. You are an important contact for patients and relatives throughout the care process at the orthopedic clinic. The work is independent but takes place in close collaboration with other nurses, nursing assistants, medical secretaries, and doctors. The position is primarily daytime on weekdays but may include two weekend shifts per month. You will receive structured introduction with shadowing and support from experienced colleagues.
