Description Karlstad Pastorate comprises five parishes, a cemetery administration, and a shared administration. Västerstrands Parish is located in the western parts of Karlstad and is an exciting parish rich in diversity with broad and vibrant activities, singing, creative pursuits, and groups for all ages. In the heart of this area stands Västerstrands Church as a meeting point between the different city districts. The work team consists of fifteen employees and a number of volunteers. Together we work for a living church. Now we are looking for a cantor who wants to become part of our team! Job Duties The work involves playing at services, devotions, and church ceremonies. An important part of the position is leading and developing the parish's adult choirs. We also hold services continuously at elderly care facilities where you will be an important part. The prison is part of the parish and service there may occur, as well as at services with the Finnish parish, and you will be a natural part of the parish's shared activities. The work is mainly based within Västerstrands Parish, but tasks within other parishes in the pastorate occur. Working hours are scheduled and also involve work on evenings and weekends. Qualifications We are now looking for you as a musician with a cantor's degree and who has broad musical skills and quality. You are well familiar with the church's worship life and liturgy, and have good pedagogical abilities. We see that you have previous experience leading choirs with singers of various ages. You are expected to have good knowledge of Swedish and be able to express yourself well both verbally and in writing. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
