Our ambition is to be at the forefront when it comes to innovative solutions, smart work methods, and an efficient organization. As an employee, you play an important role in our development work. The municipality as a workplace is characterized by a consensus between politics and operations, where shared interest and responsibility for Vallentuna's best shines through. Service, accessibility, and customer focus are important in our work for good results and increased quality. Commitment, collaboration, and equal value for all should permeate our organization. You who are applying should of course share our common values. About the Operation: This is an unusual opportunity to become part of our work team. We have not recruited case handlers within the Elderly Unit for several years, which we see as a testament to a stable workplace with good satisfaction. The position is now vacant as an appreciated colleague moves on to a new assignment within the same administration. The Elderly Unit is part of the Social Services Department's authority division. The work also involves close cooperation with relatives, service providers, healthcare providers, and other collaborating partners. You independently manage your cases from application to decision and follow-up, and actively contribute to the operation's development and improvement work. At the same time, collaboration and knowledge exchange are important parts of our working methods. We have regular case discussions and case consultations where we together discuss complex issues, create consensus, and contribute to a learning organization. Qualifications: We are looking for you who have: A degree in social work or other higher education that the employer deems equivalent. At least two years of continuous experience with authority work involving independent case handling, investigation, decision-making, and follow-up according to the Social Services Act (SoL) and/or the Act on Support and Service for Certain Persons with Disabilities (LSS). WORK TASKS Do you want to contribute to increased participation and social community by being a support and a fellow human for individuals with functional variations? Become a contact person! A contact person serves as a fellow human, friend, and a good role model where you, together with the individual – who can be a child, young person, or adult – create opportunities for social activities, community, and meaningful leisure time. The goal of the assignment is to break social isolation, and the assignment is shaped based on the individual's needs, wishes, and interests. It can also involve providing advice and support in everyday life, strengthening social contacts, stimulating active leisure time, and facilitating the opportunity to participate in leisure activities. It involves approximately 2-4 meetings per month (1 occasion per week is common). When and where you meet and what you do together is something you arrange together. Examples of activities can include: • Taking walks together. • Having coffee or going to a café. • Participating in leisure and cultural activities. • Visiting events or excursion destinations. • Providing support in social settings. • Being a conversation partner and fellow human. As a contact person, you are not employed but carry out a compensated assignment. You will receive introduction, support, and guidance during the assignment. Please note that this is not a position but an assignment that you carry out in your free time. QUALIFICATIONS Who can become a contact person? No special education is required to become a contact person. However, you must have a genuine interest and commitment to other people and a desire to build a relationship that lasts over a longer period. You are secure, responsible, and attentive, with the ability to create relationships of trust. You find it easy to collaborate with others and have the ability to dedicate time and commitment to a meaningful assignment where your presence and support can be of great importance. Personal suitability and commitment are decisive. To be considered as a contact person, you must be at least 18 years old and must provide a police certificate of good conduct (no criminal record or suspicions). We also conduct ID verification before you can be approved as a contact person. What compensation applies? Activities take place in your free time, and as a contact person, you receive a monthly fee. You also receive a reimbursement for expenses – compensation that covers costs related to the assignment. Compensation is provided according to the recommendations of Sweden's Municipalities and Regions (SKR). What happens after the application is submitted and approved? After you submit your application, we will review it and get back to you within 2-3 weeks. If you move forward, you will first be contacted by a recruiter and then meet with the unit manager who is responsible for the contact person assignments. Once you are approved as a contact person, it may sometimes take a while before we find a suitable young person or adult, as we want to make as good a match as possible. When your assignment begins, we will go through the young person's or adult's goals and implementation plan together so that you know what you should be working toward. The implementation plan is followed up every year or when major changes occur, and you will submit activity reports digitally each month. NOTE! - Feedback will be provided starting in week 34.
