Welcome to Us Family Care Unit 1 in Enskede-Årsta-Vantör is now seeking three new colleagues who are interested in following the development of children placed in foster care and supporting foster families and emergency care homes so they can provide children with the best possible conditions in life. The unit consists of a unit manager and 10 foster care caseworkers, three of whom have decided to retire. Since everyone in the group is highly knowledgeable in foster care, there is room for you with different experience to have colleagues who share their knowledge. Family Care Unit 1 is part of one of the Department of Individual and Family's three areas called Children and Youth, Placement and Open Services. The area consists of three units responsible for children and youth placed in public care and two units responsible for open services to children, youth, and their families. We have just over 75 employees in the entire area. What We Offer Stockholm City offers a wellness allowance of 3,000 kr/year and has its own wellness facilities with discounts. Your Role The work involves responsibility for a number of cases where in some cases you have the role as the child's own caseworker and in other cases you have the role as the foster family and emergency care home's caseworker. The child's and foster family's caseworker work in a team. Within the area there are two family care units that work closely together, for example with joint occasions for developing methods and procedures, training and experience exchange. Stockholm City offers introductory training in foster care and training in deep interviewing according to the city's model. As the child's caseworker, you follow up on the care of placed children and youth in foster homes and emergency care homes through home visits, conversations with the child, contact with school/preschool, healthcare, etc. You also have contact with the child's biological parents. In the role as the foster family's caseworker, it includes recruiting, investigating, and supporting foster families. The work is flexible, independent, and network-building with many collaborators and individual solutions based on each child's specific needs. Your Competence and Experience We are looking for someone who has: - A degree in social work and several years of experience working with public authority exercises. - You need to have a good ability to work in a structured manner by planning, organizing, and prioritizing your work well. - You are relationship-building, have good collaboration skills, are calm and stable, unpretentious, and have the ability to make wise assessments in a longer perspective. Other The work involves travel, mainly in the Stockholm area but also to other parts of Sweden. Some evening work may occur. We believe in long-term employment and therefore place great emphasis on personal suitability. Applicants called for interview must present diploma and ID documentation at the interview.
