With roots dating back to 1851, we have provided healthcare on Södermalm in Stockholm, but we accept patients from across the country. Here we offer high-quality, specialized healthcare with both breadth and specialized expertise. We are a university healthcare unit and conduct research, education, and development in collaboration with Karolinska Institute. We are growing to help more people, and since 2023 the hospital's capacity has tripled and eight new operations have started. The Geriatric Clinic currently consists of three geriatric wards, a specialized rehabilitation unit, and a cognitive outpatient clinic. The specialized geriatric care at Ersta Hospital is characterized by a holistic view of the person that encompasses all aspects of life. The team consists of physicians, nurses, dietitians, physical therapists, social workers, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, nursing assistants, and administrators with high expertise in geriatric care. We are now planning to open a smaller ward with eight beds. You will be part of it from the beginning and contribute your expertise as we together shape working methods and build a new team. As an employee with us, we offer a range of benefits, including wellness allowance, which we hope will give you the conditions to thrive at work and have a rewarding leisure time. About the Role As a nursing assistant, you are an important part of the geriatric team and work close to the patient throughout the care period. You are responsible for patient care and contribute your observations, experience, and knowledge to the team's collective work. You will meet elderly patients with different needs and circumstances. Your ability to notice changes, create safety, and adapt patient care to the individual is an important part of the quality of care. Since the ward is new, you will have the opportunity to work with your colleagues to shape working methods and routines from the start. We are recruiting nursing assistants for both day/evening and night shifts. Full-time corresponds to 37 hours per week for two-shift work and 33.33 hours per week for night duty. Please indicate in your application if you are interested in day/evening or night shifts. Who Are You? You are confident in your professional role and enjoy working together with other professions. You are responsive, have good collaboration skills, and communicate in a clear and constructive manner. You thrive in an operation that develops and want to contribute both your experience and your ideas as we build up the new ward. You take responsibility for your work and see the value in sharing knowledge and learning together with others. Your commitment and approach align with Ersta Diakoni's value base of seeing the whole person and our core values of professionalism, trust, and hope. Your Experience We are looking for someone who has certification from the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare showing the right to use the protected professional title of nursing assistant and several years of experience working in inpatient care. Experience in geriatric care is a merit. Other Information About the Recruitment We apply probationary employment as standard. Before employment, we will request excerpts from the suspicion and burden register.
