We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation services, remand facilities, and client transportation. The Transport Department's task is to transport detained persons. The transports mainly involve correctional clients, between remand facilities and prisons, as well as to, for example, court hearings and medical appointments, but also detained persons on behalf of, for example, the Police, the National Board of Institutional Care, the Migration Agency, and psychiatric services. During 2026, TA will conduct approximately 130,000 transports, which includes both domestic and international transports. The Business Support Unit primarily supports the department head but also other units.
