About the Operations Regional Psychiatry and Habilitation Services coordinates regional healthcare for adult psychiatry, child and adolescent psychiatry, and habilitation in Region Västernorrland. Regional healthcare operations are conducted at three hospitals—Sundsvall, Sollefteå, and Örnsköldsvik—and at a number of clinics located in several towns throughout the region. The Addiction Team is a region-wide team connected to psychiatric inpatient care at Department 7 in Sundsvall. The team functions as a link between psychiatric inpatient, intermediate, and outpatient care, primary care, municipalities, health and medical services, and provides all actors with consultative support while serving as a center of expertise. The team plans care before, during, and after inpatient treatment and is an important link in the care chain for individuals. The Addiction Team provides guidance and support to the region's municipalities, primary care, and other care partners, and implements clinical interventions of an outpatient nature. The team, currently consisting of two coordinators, a nurse, a social worker, and a physician, will be strengthened with additional staff to provide treatment services for direct work with patients with harmful use and substance dependence combined with psychiatric issues.
