Postdoctoral Researcher in Microstructure-Informed Modeling of Fracture Mechanics
Job Responsibilities The position involves both experimental and numerical studies in fracture mechanics. The experimental work focuses on developing new specimen geometries to study defect evolution, especially void formation, under a broad spectrum of stress states, using advanced X-ray computed tomography (CT) in both interrupted and in situ tests. Initial studies will be conducted using the institution's own micro-CT equipment and will later be expanded to synchrotron experiments in collaboration with national and international partners. The experimental results will then be used to develop improved models for damage evolution in continuum-based nonlocal material models, adapted for implementation in finite element models for fracture analysis. These models will be applied to study the ductile-to-brittle transition in HSLA steel. Job Responsibilities · Coordinate the client's care and implementation plan. · Serve as a contact person with the client's referral source, social services, police, healthcare, schools, and other collaborative partners. · Conduct risk assessments and security planning. · Document according to applicable legislation and the organization's quality standards. · Provide support and guidance to clients during their stay. · Participate in the development of the organization's security work and procedures.
