Description We are seeking part-time firefighters for Räddningstjänsten Mälardalen's operations in Hallstahammar/Kolbäck, based at the new Eriksberg fire station! As an on-call emergency responder (RiB), you take on this role alongside your primary employment and respond to alarms in the area where you live and work. You become part of a team that together performs rescue operations and contributes to community safety. About the Work Being a part-time firefighter means you live, work, and go about your daily life as usual, but during certain weeks you are on standby. This means you must be able to respond when an alarm is triggered – regardless of the time of day. When you are on standby, you carry a pager and must be able to reach the fire station within 5 minutes. From there, you travel with your colleagues to various rescue operations. This may involve fires in buildings, vehicles, or in forests and fields. You may also respond to traffic accidents, automatic alarms, acute medical emergencies where you provide first aid while waiting for an ambulance, or other situations where people need help quickly. Your task, together with your colleagues, is to create safety, help those in need, and limit damage as much as possible. Between alarms, you train and practice regularly.
