Experienced environmental consultant specializing in contaminated sites in Stockholm Viken Miljökonsult AB is expanding with two experienced environmental consultants specializing in contaminated sites to their Stockholm operations. About the role Viken Miljökonsult works with, among other things, Swedish Environmental Protection Agency-funded projects in various phases and large development projects involving the management and remediation of contaminated land. Currently, the company works on environmental issues through several long-term contracts with both public clients and private actors. The work includes investigations for public clients, major development projects in the Stockholm area, and assignments for private actors and operations throughout Sweden. As an environmental consultant at Viken, you will be part of a team focused on contaminated sites in soil, water, sediment, and bedrock. The role includes both case handling and project management combined with opportunities for fieldwork. Examples of assignments include environmental technical soil investigations including sampling, risk assessments, remediation studies, and environmental support in the remediation of contaminated sites. We are looking for someone who wants to combine qualified consulting work with some practical fieldwork and who has the drive to help develop a growing operation alongside experienced consultants. Viken is a smaller, compact, and efficient operation where decision-making processes are short and where your ability to contribute to the company's development is significant. Based on your background and development in the company, the role will include contact with customers, colleagues, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities. The work includes case handling, project management, and the opportunity to collect samples of soil, water, sediment, and other relevant materials. Your background In addition to a strong interest in environmental issues, we see that you have relevant science education at upper secondary or university level in geology, soil science, geoscience, environmental science, or equivalent. For example, you could have an educational background as a civil engineer in environmental and water engineering or equivalent specialization. You have several years of experience with contaminated sites, are proficient in professional Swedish both spoken and written, have normal computer skills (MS Office), and hold a valid B-class driving license. It is advantageous if you have experience in project management within contaminated sites.
