Perception Algorithm Developer

About the Role NFA is looking for an experienced software engineer to join us in developing state-of-the-art perception and localization for forestry machines - running on our hardware platform in the field in real time. The role entails using both classical and deep learning methods for improving existing products but also paving the way for the next generation of products in semi-automation. ‍You will be working with the team owning the Perception Engine module and take joint responsibility for the operator experience - which is central to the development goals. The tasks within this scope are broad and include machine learning, computer vision algorithms, SLAM and maintaining the necessary infrastructure for development and testing of the algorithms. ‍Work Working with the Perception Engine, you will be involved in Solving bugs and issues related to the existing operator support product in the field Adapt models and algorithms to new environments in new markets Developing capabilities required for future products, requiring richer understanding of the tree characteristics and terrain. Building and maintaining the necessary testing and data infrastructure Releasing the functionality with quality to the field Candidate We see that you have some experience in software development and hold an MSc or PhD degree in a relevant field, e.g. Computer Science or Applied Mathematics. You have specifically worked with or studied development of algorithms for perception or localization using camera or lidar sensors. It is beneficial to have experience with deploying Neural Network models or algorithms on embedded devices with runtime constraints. Being comfortable with working in a Linux environment is also a plus.
