Östervångsskolan in Lund offers bilingual education in a sign language environment for students from preschool class through grade 10. Our students receive instruction in both Swedish Sign Language and written Swedish. We offer accommodation for students who cannot commute to school every day. 1 position(s). JOB RESPONSIBILITIES We are looking for a qualified teacher to provide support and conduct instruction for middle school students and in a special instruction group at the middle school level. Your duties include implementing planned instruction, planning your own instruction, and providing support to students as they participate in classroom instruction. You lead and organize the work so that a safe learning environment is created, and together with your colleagues, you provide opportunities for students to follow their own learning and development. You do this in accordance with curricula, course plans, knowledge requirements, and based on students' needs. Each individual student's needs and knowledge development are assessed, documented, and followed up on. You collaborate closely with other teachers, special education staff, and assistants who also work with the student group, and you collaborate with guardians. Since this employment is a substitute position due to sick leave of regular staff, we can initially only promise 3 months of employment, but there is a chance it may be extended through January 2027. A substitute position continues until the regular staff member returns. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone who has: • A teacher certification for special school activities, preferably with broad subject qualifications • Experience with teaching assignments in special schools or primary schools • Swedish Sign Language and Swedish. Supporting deaf sign language students is part of the role, which means Swedish Sign Language is a requirement • Good IT skills It is advantageous if you have supplementary education in the pedagogical or social field. Personal Qualities: We are looking for someone who wants to contribute to our students' learning with great commitment and drive for the student group. We are looking for someone who is good at collaboration and building positive relationships with students and colleagues. You are patient and work to find solutions that enable student learning. We are looking for a colleague who contributes positivity and good knowledge to our team. Employment Type: Fixed-term employment. Duration: 3-6 months, Start date: by agreement, End date: 2026-12-22. Substitute position during fall semester 2026, with possible opportunity for extension. Scheduled working hours. An extract from the criminal record will be presented before employment. In the event of a societal crisis, you may be reassigned between the agency's operational areas based on your work location.
