Assistant Facilities Manager for Campus Services

The position is located at the Buildings Department, which is part of the university administration. The university administration serves as the support and service function for university leadership and core activities in research and education. The Buildings Department is responsible for everything from strategic facility planning, renovation and new construction projects, ongoing facility administration and contract management, room and exam scheduling, to work with environmental issues, physical work environment, and facilities maintenance. The unit employs approximately 100 service assistants, six service leaders, one finance administrator, and one assistant facilities manager, with the latter three functions reporting directly to the facilities manager. Service leaders and service assistants are located at eight campus areas where they perform their duties. The assistant facilities manager is located at the Facilities Maintenance Unit and reports to the facilities manager. Duties As assistant facilities manager for the facilities maintenance unit, you will assist the facilities manager in daily operations and provide close support to the service leaders (group leaders). This involves assisting the facilities manager in leading, directing, planning, and following up on facilities maintenance operations. Assist the facilities manager with responsibility for managing the facilities maintenance unit's budget for personnel costs, operating expenses, and inventory costs.
