Your Tasks As an archivist at the Medical Products Agency, you work with comprehensive archive and information management and the agency's systems for preservation of electronic documents. You have an academic degree in archive and information science or other education that we consider equivalent. You have at least a few years of experience working in public administration in the field of archive and information management and have practical experience informing and training in your area. You should have an interest in process thinking and the entire information flow within e-government, as well as in change and development work. The Department of Public Health and Caring Sciences (IFV) is part of the Faculty of Medicine and conducts extensive research through our 11 research groups in areas such as public health science, caring sciences, bioethics, and health and healthcare research. The department also provides education in the medical program, nursing programs, speech-language pathology program, master's program in public health, and through various standalone courses. Duties The position includes teaching, research, and administration. Teaching occurs at both basic and advanced levels, primarily in the medical program and master's program in public health in subjects such as health and healthcare research and scientific methodology. Teaching responsibilities also include course coordination and course administration. Diversity and Interactions of Plasmid-Dependent Phages in Aquatic Ecosystems
Department of Water and Environment Doctoral Program Subject: Biology Description of the Doctoral Project: Antibiotic resistance (AMR) is one of the most pressing global health challenges of our time. A key driver behind the spread of AMR is horizontal transfer of antibiotic resistance genes via conjugative plasmids, mobile genetic elements that move between bacteria. Plasmid-dependent phages (PDPs) are viruses that specifically infect bacteria carrying these plasmids, making them a potentially powerful but so far overlooked tool for controlling the spread of resistance genes. This doctoral project is part of ECOPHARM, a research project funded by the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation (Wallenberg Academy Fellows 2025). The overarching goal of ECOPHARM is to map the mechanisms governing PDPs' interactions with conjugative plasmids and bacterial hosts, and to understand their impact on the transfer of antibiotic resistance genes in aquatic environments. As a doctoral student, you will investigate the diversity, ecology, and functional interactions of PDPs in aquatic ecosystems. The work will combine environmental sampling, culture-based methods, metagenomics, genome analysis, and infection assays.
