About the Unit The 162nd Airbase Battalion is in an expansion phase and on a comprehensive growth journey. The unit is based in Uppsala and has the main task of enabling takeoff and landing of aircraft on our runways, as well as protecting and defending the airbase and our operations. The 162nd Airbase Battalion is active 24/7, every day of the year with sharp operations for Sweden and NATO's defense. We are looking for you to work as Deputy Company Commander at 1621st Airbase Company at F 16, Uppland Air Flotilla. Here you will have the opportunity to work in a dedicated and cohesive team where you can develop while contributing to the company's capability development. The battalion's main task is to maintain and uphold protection around the airbase. Daily work includes sharp operations with very short timeframes mixed with long-term planning, development, and establishment of the Air Force's new capabilities. Main Responsibilities 1621st Airbase Company is currently responsible for airport operations in the form of field maintenance, rescue services, clearing services, air terminal services, and operation and maintenance of the airport's technical systems. The company is also responsible for protection and security of F 16's valuable assets. In your role as Deputy Company Commander, you work closely with the Company Commander and support the Company Commander in planning, leadership, and development of the company. As Deputy Company Commander, you are responsible for the company's incoming tasks, its finances, and create decision support for the Company Commander. The position includes both personnel and employer responsibility at company level. In your role, you are part of the company leadership and during the Company Commander's absence, you should be ready to lead the company. Your work will lead to your development as a leader in the Swedish Armed Forces. Within the Swedish Armed Forces, we always work as a team.
