The research is conducted at the Department of Production Development at KTH and aims to support the manufacturing industry's transition from linear to circular value chains. The project is based on a life cycle perspective where products, components, and materials retain their value through reuse, remanufacturing, and reintegration into production. The position primarily involves further developing research from the iReGear project in close collaboration with TRATON Group R&D. The focus is on how remanufactured transmission components can be integrated into production systems for new heavy-duty vehicles and how circularity can be scaled up in industrial application. The work includes analysis and development of component and material flows as well as identification of opportunities for reuse, reprocessing, and remanufacturing, while taking technical, quality, and operational requirements into account.
