Administrative Director, Stockholm District Court

1 position(s). Workplace Description Stockholm District Court is the country's largest district court with approximately 300 employees. The court is led by the Chief Judge and is divided into five judicial divisions and one administrative division. The judicial divisions are each led by a Senior Judge, and the administrative division is led by the Administrative Director. The Administrative Director is part of the court's management group. The administrative division has just over 50 employees. The division is responsible for financial and operational follow-up, communication, HR, security and services, IT, registration and archives. Under the Administrative Director, certain parts of the administrative division are led by a Deputy Administrative Director, and there are also group managers/group leaders. Your Responsibilities As Administrative Director, you have overall responsibility for the operations of the administrative division. You report directly to the Chief Judge, with whom you work closely on strategic and operational matters. This includes budget, planning and staffing issues, preparation for and participation in internal and external meetings and working groups, and monitoring of finances and operations. You drive administrative matters and develop the division's work. You also work closely with the Deputy Administrative Director and the two administrative fiscal officers. The court is continuously and actively engaged in operational development, and you play a central role in this work. Current focus is on reviewing work methods, routines and support in core operations while advancing digitalization. Change work that impacts the core of work methods places great demands on communication and organizational alignment. You share direct personnel responsibility with the Deputy Administrative Director and, with the current division of duties, have responsibility for employees and unit managers in the central administration unit. You are part of the court's management group where matters of strategic and operational importance are addressed. In management group work, it is important to ensure the best interests of the entire court and to be able to assess both long-term and short-term consequences of different approaches. You are also expected to participate in regular meetings of the division heads. Qualifications To understand our core operations, you must be or have been a regular judge with experience from judicial work in court. You also have experience as a manager, including responsibility for work environment and personnel matters, as well as experience leading through other managers. You need to have aptitude and interest in administrative work, finance, and development issues. It is particularly meritorious if you have experience in administrative management from a larger lower court. It is also meritorious if you have experience from work in other areas of the justice system beyond judicial operations. We will place great emphasis on personal suitability. Since the role of Administrative Director is broad and independent, you as a manager must be strategically oriented and have the ability to take responsibility for and drive processes forward independently. You must be able to make correct assessments and prioritizations. You must also be able to delegate and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. You will have broad contact surfaces involving meetings with both internal and external contacts of various kinds.
