Research Assistant for Youth Screen Time and Physical Activity Project
Gymnastik- och idrottshögskolan, GIH, is Sweden's leading knowledge center for sports, performance development, physical activity, and health. We educate teachers in the school subject of sports and health, as well as coaches, health scientists, behavioral scientists, sports and health managers, sports scientists, and researchers. As a research assistant, you will join an interdisciplinary research group working on a project about youth screen time, mental health, and lifestyle habits https://www.gih.se/screenfit The position will include literature searches, review of scientific articles as part of systematic reviews, data collection, data processing and management, support with research funding applications, and other research-related tasks. Work Tasks You will contribute to research projects on screen time, physical activity, and sleep among school-age youth. Work tasks include participation in systematic literature reviews, data collection and processing, as well as administrative and practical tasks related to project implementation. Examples of work tasks: - Participate in systematic review work, including organizing references and articles in reference management software. - Conduct screening of titles and abstracts according to predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria. - Read full-text articles for selection in the review. - Extract and compile data from included studies in tables. - Assist in qualitative and quantitative data collection with youth, where tasks may include recruitment, measurements, focus groups, data cleaning, and administrative work. Qualifications We are seeking someone who is studying at university or college level in public health, epidemiology, sports science, psychology, or related fields. Excellent knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, as this is required for the work. Good English reading comprehension, as the work involves reading and reviewing scientific articles and abstracts in English.
