Project Description The postdoctoral position is located within human-computer interaction (HCI), with a focus on adaptive immersive technologies for participatory activities in urban cultural heritage. The project focuses on how we can design adaptive immersive experiences in XR (augmented, virtual, and mixed reality) for cultural heritage and evaluate the potential of contextual data to enhance access to, interpretation of, and engagement with shared experiences. The research will particularly aim to investigate how urban cultural heritage can transition from static reconstruction to shared personal activities that support collective meaning-making. Research activities will be located within the technical and scientific aspects of game design and HCI. This includes developing prototypes that integrate multimodal data collection from motion and interaction streams, algorithmic development for group-aware real-time adaptation, and evaluation using mixed methods of adaptive games and immersive experiences. Responsibilities We are seeking a postdoctor with a technical background in areas such as game design, immersive technologies, and/or computer vision. Preferably with experience in designing interactive prototypes involving immersive technologies, interactive media, and/or games; and competence in conducting empirical research on topics related to technology for cultural heritage, architecture, or related fields. The research has an interdisciplinary orientation and will build on connections between game design, computer science, and relevant social sciences. The postdoctor's main areas of responsibility will include technical development, empirical and design work related to digitalization of cultural heritage, and studies of shared interactions in immersive media. This project is located in an interdisciplinary research group with extensive international collaborations. The postdoctor is expected to present his or her work at international forums and in journals, as well as collaborate with colleagues at Stockholm University and other institutions in the Stockholm region. Subject Description IT Project Management is an interdisciplinary field encompassing social sciences, behavioral sciences, and computer science. The field focuses on developing theory and practice in software project management. In software-intensive contexts, IT project management integrates software development methods with theories and methods for managing distributed multidisciplinary teams. The field also encompasses knowledge of business and change strategies for software companies, as well as empirical research on AI-driven software development and its implications. Responsibilities The primary duties as an Assistant Professor include research, teaching, and supervision at undergraduate, advanced, and doctoral levels.
