Head of M&A - BA Life Science
Needo Recruitment Sthlm AB · Full-time
Raseborgsgatan 9, Kista, Sweden
Are you an experienced M&A professional with a passion for building long-term value through entrepreneurial companies? This is a unique opportunity to drive acquisition growth within one of Indutrade's business areas. About Indutrade Indutrade is an international technology and industrial business group founded in 1978 and listed on Nasdaq Stockholm. The group consists of over 220 companies across some 30 countries, primarily in Europe, with net sales of SEK 32.5 billion in 2024. Indutrade's business philosophy is built on entrepreneurship, decentralization and sustainable, profitable growth – the group acquires and develops owner-managed, profitable companies with significant technical content in selected niches. The Business Area Life Science includes both technical trading companies and companies with proprietary products. Companies sell components, medical technology products, diagnostics equipment, production equipment and system solutions to customers within the pharmaceutical, healthcare and life science industries across Scandinavia, the UK and Ireland, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, Poland, the Czech Republic and Spain. About the Role As Head of M&A within the Life Science Business Area, you will serve as the overall project leader for the BA's proactive acquisition deal flow. You will be responsible for the full M&A process — from identifying and contacting prospects, conducting initial and follow-up meetings, and building the internal business case. This includes managing NBO offers, due diligence, SPA negotiations, closing and onboarding. This does not mean you execute all steps alone; you are accountable for ensuring they are carried out in a timely and professional manner using the right resources across the organization. The Business Area has executed 6-8 acquisitions per year in recent years, split between standalone acquisitions and add-on acquisitions with the ambition to further increase deal flow. The role is an important platform position with significant internal and external interaction, and you will report to the Head of BA. You will collaborate closely with Business Segment Leaders, MDs of subsidiary companies, Indutrade's central M&A team and country-based M&A resources across Europe. A key part of the role is building a strong internal network and ensuring that sourcing activity is continuously driven forward across all markets. Key Responsibilities: • Drive and optimize the BA's proactive M&A deal flow and ensure a continuous pipeline of acquisition candidates across all markets • Manage and take overall responsibility for all stages of the acquisition process, from prospect identification through to closing and onboarding • Lead SPA negotiations and ensure professional execution of due diligence processes • Coordinate and leverage internal resources including Business Segment Leaders, BA MDs, central M&A team and country-level M&A resources • Build and maintain a strong internal and external network to support deal sourcing and execution across Scandinavia, UK & Ireland, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, Poland, Czech Republic and Spain • Prepare and present internal evaluations, investment proposals and IC materials in line with Indutrade's decision-making processes About You You are a commercially minded, structured and relationship-oriented professional who thrives in a high-paced, entrepreneurial environment. You are comfortable working independently, managing multiple processes in parallel, and navigating both strategic and operational challenges. You have a natural ability to build trust with business owners and entrepreneurs, and you understand how to tailor your approach to different cultures and markets. Important for the Role: • At least 6-8 years of experience in M&A, corporate development or private equity, with a strong track record of managing transactions end-to-end • Solid experience in deal sourcing, financial analysis and valuation, due diligence and contract negotiation (SPA) • Strong project management skills and ability to coordinate across multiple stakeholders and geographies simultaneously • Excellent relationship-building and communication skills – you are comfortable engaging with entrepreneurs and business owners as well as senior internal stakeholders • Experience in or interest in the life science sector is a merit • Experience working in an international context outside the Nordics is a plus • Fluency in English is required; proficiency in additional European languages is an advantage Other Information Start: According to agreement Scope: Full-time Location: Stockholm Do you find this opportunity as Head of M&A at Indutrade interesting?
