Personal Assistant to Liam

Levanda Personlig Assistans is a small and personal care assistance company that takes great care of our employees. We're looking for engaged and positive team members who are passionate about working with people. Do you have a good sense of humor – and low stress levels? We're looking for a personal assistant to Liam, a happy and charming guy who loves closeness, music, walks, and energetic play. His favorites include tag, jumping on a trampoline, swimming, biking, going down slides, and being tickled. In other words: feel free to keep both your inner child and your walking shoes close at hand! Liam has severe autism, intellectual disability, and ADHD. He communicates primarily through body language, pictures, and a few words. As you get to know him, his way of expressing himself becomes clearer. And when Liam is comfortable with you, there's no doubt about it – he'll happily offer you laughter, hugs, joy jumps, and maybe an appreciative sniff inspection. Who are we looking for? You need to be calm, secure, and present. Liam wants an adult who participates in what he does – not someone who stands at a distance watching. You're welcome to be playful, have a good sense of humor, and think it's completely reasonable that a workday can include tag, a trampoline, and a tram ride. At the same time, the work is responsible. Liam needs constant supervision and lacks understanding of traffic and other dangers. Outdoors, there's a risk he might suddenly run off, which means you need to be attentive, stay close, and have the physical ability to quickly help him stop. Transitions between activities can sometimes be difficult, especially when something fun needs to end or when the day doesn't go as Liam had imagined. Then you need to stay calm, be patient, and try to distract him with something he enjoys. Stress is contagious – but fortunately, so is calmness. When Liam becomes upset or isn't feeling well, he may scream or hurt himself. That's why it's important that you can read his signals, act safely, and contact his parents when something seems off. We believe you: Are calm, secure, and very patient. Are attentive and present throughout your entire shift. Enjoy play, walks, and being outdoors. Have good physical fitness and can act quickly if Liam tries to run off. Are solution-oriented and stay calm when something unexpected happens. Respect that the work is performed in the family's home. Understand that your phone sometimes needs to rest while you and Liam have more important things to do. Experience working as a teaching assistant, personal assistant, or with children and young people with autism is highly valuable. A driver's license is a plus, but not required. It's also positive if you feel comfortable going along and swimming. What does the work involve? The work is about giving Liam a safe, active, and meaningful leisure time. You pick him up from school, receive information about how his school day was, and follow him home. After that, you do things that suit his mood – maybe a walk, outdoor play, music, swimming, or a good round of tag at home. You help Liam through the day's transitions, involve him through pictures and clear communication, and stay close the whole time to prevent risks. The most important thing isn't that every activity is perfect, but that Liam feels safe, understood, and has fun with you. Work hours are mainly scheduled for afternoons and evenings after school, plus a longer shift on Saturdays. Some adjustment may be possible during school holidays. You'll be working with a warm and welcoming family who wants you to feel safe in their home. The parents are responsible for the introduction and will help you learn Liam's signals, routines, and ways of communicating. Personal chemistry is crucial, and Liam will therefore get to meet potential candidates during the recruitment process. This is a job for someone who wants to make a real difference – and who doesn't mind getting a bit tired in the legs and very warm in the heart.
