At Sahlgrenska University Hospital, we are proud to offer a physician residency (AT) of high quality with satisfied residents and a committed and responsive residency organization. We ensure that as a physician resident you will thrive, grow, and gain a strong foundation for your medical licensure. With us, you will complete 6 months of research and 18 months of clinical service distributed over 4 months in internal medicine, 4 months in surgical specialties, 3 months in psychiatry, and 1 elective month in internal medicine/surgical specialties. On-call service is included. You will conclude your residency with 6 months of general medicine with placement at one of the health centers throughout the Gothenburg area, including the archipelago and surrounding municipalities of Partille, Härryda, and Mölndal. Read more here: Residency at Sahlgrenska University Hospital About You To be eligible for a research physician residency, you must have completed at least 10 terms of medical school or have valid authorization from the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare (Socialstyrelsen). It is advantageous if you have: obtained a medical degree experience in clinical work as a junior physician experience in teaching and/or mentoring research experience in the form of, for example, publications, doctoral registration, dissertation defense, or docent appointment experience in other healthcare and care work. We are looking for someone who is stable and confident in yourself. You are able to prioritize and make independent decisions based on the information you have, while knowing when you need to ask for advice or guidance. You are good at seeing the big picture and your role in it. You work well in teams and treat others with consideration and respect. To provide our patients with good and safe care, it is a requirement that our employees have good language skills and the ability to communicate in Swedish. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability. To begin work as a physician resident at Sahlgrenska University Hospital, a valid medical degree is required. What You Need to Prepare for Your Application: result transcript from Ladok, medical degree certificate valid in Sweden, or authorization from Socialstyrelsen to complete residency if you have studied medicine in a country other than Sweden and do not have a Swedish high school diploma, the following is required: Certificate of approved Swedish language proficiency corresponding to level C1 according to the European Framework of Reference for Languages and English corresponding to the requirements for general admission to medical school in Sweden service certificate from the payroll office confirming time worked and employment rate (not an employment contract or reference letter) research plan with description of planned research during 6 months and references, maximum 3 A4 pages, including references, Times New Roman 12 point, single spacing name of supervisor (for applicants without a doctorate) or where the research will be conducted (for applicants with a doctorate) certificate from a department head or division director regarding research affiliation at Sahlgrenska Academy, University of Gothenburg any publication list proof of doctoral registration or completed doctorate if applicable.
