The Education Unit is one of ten units within the university's joint administration, and the unit has approximately 100 employees. For more information about educational support at the university, see: http://www.gu.se/studera/plugga-pa-universitetet/studera-med-funktionsnedsattning and http://www.studentportal.gu.se/pedagogisktstod Job Responsibilities In the role as coordinator for educational support, you and colleagues work to coordinate educational support for students with documented permanent disabilities. A large part of the work consists of individual meetings with students through physical meetings, digital meetings, or phone calls. The role also includes independently and jointly with coordinator colleagues providing support to departments, among other things on matters relating to support and accommodations for students as well as accessibility. The assignment includes, among other things: Assess study situations and handle cases for students with various types of permanent disabilities, for example neurodevelopmental disabilities, reading and writing difficulties/dyslexia, mental health disabilities, other medical conditions, etc. Work on developing the operations and managing internal routines and processes for the work Perform administration related to the assignment and work in IT and financial systems Collaborate with colleagues within the function and develop the operations Provide information about general support and educational support to students Provide information and give presentations to groups within and outside the university about educational support and accessibility Collaborate with colleagues within the section, administrators and academic advisors at departments and teachers as well as with the library. Qualifications You have a degree in speech-language pathology. It is a requirement that you have previous experience working with educational support and that you have worked with assessment, supervision, and teaching targeted at individuals with various types of permanent disabilities. Furthermore, it is a requirement that you have experience conducting conversations based on conversation methodology and that you have worked with accessibility and equal treatment issues. You are also comfortable speaking in front of audiences and have practical experience working in accordance with anti-discrimination legislation. Experience from work in higher education is a merit. Further, the position requires that you have very good IT skills and the ability to quickly familiarize yourself with various web systems related to administration and finance. You also need to have experience with extensive email communication. The position requires that you can express yourself very well in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing, and that you can tailor your communication to your target audience. You also need to feel comfortable providing information and giving presentations to large groups. The job responsibilities require responsibility, collaboration skills, a structured work approach, and accuracy. Very great weight will be placed on the ability to work well with other people and on personal suitability. Employment The employment is a permanent position with a scope of 100% (full-time) placed at the Education Unit, Section for Student and Educational Support, Gothenburg. The unit has offices in central Gothenburg (Rosenlundsgatan 8). Start date for the employment is as soon as possible, or by agreement. A probationary period may be applied.
