About the Role International Pollutants Elimination Network (IPEN) is a global network bringing together over 700 non-profit organizations in more than 130 countries with the goal of phasing out toxic chemicals. At IPEN, you will have the opportunity to work toward a more sustainable and healthy world. As Controller, you will work broadly with IPEN's internal controls, budgeting, financial planning, and management. You will oversee IPEN's budget work and ensure that IPEN's budget is used effectively, strategically, and in line with donor requirements. You will support IPEN's Operations & Finance Director, to whom you report, in risk assessment and the development of budgeting systems and internal controls. Together with IPEN's Finance Manager, you will ensure that financial procedures and internal controls are developed and maintained, and serve as a resource during financial closing and audits. You will support IPEN's member organizations and serve as a resource on financial matters for IPEN's various projects. You will review reporting to IPEN from member organizations and support them in their work through capacity-building activities. This is a new position that you will help shape. We are looking for someone with: · Relevant education for the position. · At least 3 years of work experience with grant administration, financial management, and controlling, preferably within the civil society sector. · Experience working with donor frameworks and requirements in an organization. · Experience independently developing, implementing, and improving procedures, processes, and internal controls. · Strong proficiency in the Office suite. · Excellent English skills and good Swedish skills, both spoken and written. Knowledge of other UN languages is a merit. IPEN's primary working language is English. · Experience in development cooperation, preferably with a focus on developing countries, is a merit. · Experience in capacity development or responsibility for training is a merit. · Work permit in Sweden. You will work closely with colleagues both in Gothenburg and in other parts of the world.
