School Counselor at School in Älghult

We are looking for a school counselor who wants to contribute to a safe and meaningful school experience for students. In this role, you will work closely with students by building relationships, creating a sense of security, and providing supportive conversations. The school is located in Älghult and has approximately 80 students in grades F–6. About the Role As a school counselor, you have a key role in the school's student well-being efforts. Your work tasks may include relationship-building initiatives, values exercises at the group level, and individual support conversations with students. You serve as a resource for both students and staff on matters including mental health, social interaction, and conflict management. Your work will be both preventive and interventional, with a focus on creating security and improving students' school experience. Work tasks include: Individual support conversations with students Relationship-building initiatives and values exercises Participation in student well-being team meetings Collaboration with school staff, guardians, and other stakeholders Contact with social services and other external organizations as needed Documentation and use of Allbry's digital tools Scope and Terms: Scope: 16 hours/month (e.g., 8h every other week or 4h/week) Location: On-site at school in Älghult, but sometimes with the possibility of some planning time from home Employment type: Fixed-term employment, 6 months with good opportunity for extension Start: Beginning of fall term Qualifications Sociology degree, or currently enrolled in a sociology program Previous experience in counselor work is meriting Experience working with children, particularly in supporting conversation roles Ability to work independently and take initiative Good collaboration skills and relationship-building competence We Offer: Strong collegial support: We offer a supportive work environment with strong collegial support.
