The Language Center is Strängnäs Municipality's unit for mother tongue instruction and study counseling. The Language Center works with newly arrived students with a language background other than Swedish as well as Swedish-speaking children who have attended school abroad and are entering Strängnäs Municipality's education system. We view mother tongue instruction and study counseling as a very important part of students' language development and goal achievement. We are now seeking a Study Counselor in Latvian. 1 position(s). JOB DUTIES As a study counselor, you will be responsible for planning, implementing, and developing instruction together with the responsible teacher based on each student's needs. You will work on-site at various schools in the municipality and may need to travel between schools during the workday. You will work daytime approximately three hours per week, though the extent may vary during the term. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone who has: • Strong proficiency in both spoken and written Latvian • Strong proficiency in both spoken and written Swedish It is meritorious if you have/are: • Qualified mother tongue teacher or certified teacher • Previous experience in mother tongue instruction or study counseling • B-level driver's license, as the position may involve travel between schools within the municipality.
