Competition for the position of Lead Researcher at the Institute of Solid State Physics, University of Latvia The Institute of Solid State Physics at the University of Latvia (Ministry of Education and Science institutional registration no. 381016, VAT registration no. LV90002124925) announces a competition for the following academic positions: Physics and Astronomy (Natural Sciences) Lead Researcher – 6 positions The application must specify the field and position for which the candidate wishes to apply. Position Objective: Conduct scientific research in the field of physics. Main Responsibilities: Organize, lead, and conduct research work within the structural unit and research group; Lead a team of researchers, promote creative development and professional advancement of staff; Organize project submissions and implementation, ensure reliability of research results; Prepare scientific publications and represent the institute at conferences; Participate in the implementation of higher education study programs. Requirements for Candidates: Habilitated Doctor or Doctor of Science degree; At least 3 years of experience in research work; experience in project implementation and/or management will be considered an advantage; Publications in the scientific sub-field; Ability to independently conduct scientific research and lead a team of researchers. Academic positions are filled for six years.
