Job Description for emergency department and AVA/IMA At the emergency department, each day varies in content with different challenges and when you are fully oriented, you will rotate through different positions and perform everything from triage to acute care of critically ill patients. The work environment is both exciting and stimulating and at times stressful, where you will develop your ability to prioritize and work together with the team to direct your various efforts where they are needed most. When you are placed at our acute care ward, you will continue working with patients who have recently been admitted from the emergency department. You work in a team with nursing assistants, pharmacists and physicians in an environment where pace, collaboration and patient safety go hand in hand. The focus remains on patient care with symptom-driven acute care and nursing. At AVA, patients are monitored, assessed and treated during the first critical days, often with varying diagnoses and care needs. The work is varied and takes place in close collaboration with colleagues in the team around the patient. Here you will continue to develop your ability to prioritize and work more independently based on care plans and general directives regarding care and treatment.
