Career and Education Counselor
Description As an employee of Gislaved Municipality, you are a co-creator in your workplace. We are placed at different schools and have a shared supervisor. The career and education counseling organization includes six people and we have good and close collaboration with joint meetings. In the municipality, we have a work plan for how all staff at schools should actively work so that our students get a better basis for making decisions about upcoming educational and career choices. Furthermore, there is also a person who works part-time as a school and work life developer who, together with, among others, career and education counselors, focuses on career and education counseling in a broad sense. This is a structured and systematic collaboration between school and working life throughout the student's schooling. Duties You will work as a career and education counselor at Lundåkerskolan in Gislaved. Within the scope of your assignment, you will work with adolescents in primary school and prepare them for the transition to upper secondary school and the educational choices they will make. In your assignment, you will, among other things, perform the following: - Conduct professional counseling conversations individually or in groups. - Provide information in classes and to guardians. - Collaborate with other professionals in Student Services. - Collaborate with educational providers. - Collaborate with the business sector. - Work with counseling both in a narrow and broad sense, and also together with other school staff. You will work with career and education counseling based on the Education Act and applicable regulatory documents. Qualifications Educated career and education counselor. You have good collaboration skills, are structured and stable as a person, and see the breadth of the entire organization. We would like to see that you have a relational approach and can envision different exciting future possibilities together with students. You find it easy to interact with other people and have a desire to stay in contact with students, parents, and colleagues.
