Chief Financial Officer

Do you want to be part of shaping the future of Water and Environmental Resources? We are looking for a Chief Financial Officer who wants to contribute to long-term societal benefit through smart financial management, business-minded decisions, and close collaboration with operations. With us, you will have a key role in an organization with major development ambitions and a clear mission: to create the greatest possible value for our customers, owner municipalities, and society. About the Role As Chief Financial Officer, you have overall responsibility for the company's finance and procurement function. You lead a team consisting of an economist, project controller, and procurement and purchasing coordinator, and are responsible for budgets, forecasts, financial statements, annual reports, financial reporting, and long-term sustainable financial management. You are part of the management group and provide important strategic and operational support to the CEO, managers, and board. The role involves developing analyses, decision-making materials, and financial perspectives that contribute to well-founded decisions, good foresight, and continued development of operations. You are also responsible for developing efficient processes, good internal controls, and compliance with relevant regulations within finance, administration, procurement, and purchasing. An important part of the role is also to contribute to good financial management and monitoring of the company's investments. Water and Environmental Resources is undergoing a comprehensive development journey. We are developing our organization, our work methods, and how we create value for our customers and owner municipalities. Our operations are developing toward clearer business areas with greater responsibility, better monitoring, and a stronger focus on results, customer benefit, and business acumen. An important part of the assignment will be to contribute to using finances as a strategic tool for operational development. We are reviewing our entire procurement process—from needs and planning to procurement, implementation, and follow-up—to ensure that every invested krona generates the greatest possible value. We are also developing long-term maintenance plans for the approximately 500 facilities we are responsible for managing and operating. Work Location: Sveg, Hackås, Bräcke, Vemdalen, or Funäsdalen About You We are looking for someone who sees finance as more than reporting and monitoring. You are confident in your professional role and have the ability to build trust at different levels in the organization. You enjoy working closely with both managers and employees and can translate financial relationships into understandable, relevant, and usable decision-making materials. As a person, you are communicative and pedagogical, business-minded and operations-oriented. You are structured without being bureaucratic, unpretentious, and collaboration-focused. You are also comfortable with change and experienced in driving improvement initiatives. To succeed in the role, you need to appreciate the combination of strategic responsibility and operational work. You are a leader who gets people to want to follow, and who contributes to development through clarity, commitment, and a strong operational perspective. Requirements We are looking for someone who has: - An academic degree in finance or other education that the employer deems equivalent. - Several years of experience with qualified financial work with responsibility for accounting, financial management, and monitoring. - Leadership experience with personnel responsibility or other documented experience in leading employees and operations. - Good knowledge of accounting, financial statements, budgeting, and financial analysis. - Experience developing decision-making materials and presenting financial matters to management and the board. - Good knowledge of digital financial systems and business support tools. - Excellent ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish. - Experience in investment-intensive operations and project monitoring. Meritorious - Experience from water and wastewater, waste, energy, or other infrastructure-based operations. - Knowledge of procurement legislation and/or procurement processes.
