Duties Do you want to be a key player in creating a safer future for children and young people in Avesta? Do you have the drive to make a real difference? In this meaningful role, you work with preliminary assessments and sometimes lighter investigations according to the Social Services Act, based on received concern reports. You collaborate with police, preschools, schools, open care, field assistants, and other important stakeholders to find sustainable solutions. Your base is in the Child and Family Unit together with other social workers. A day in this role is varied and eventful. No two days are alike. The work involves managing acute situations that require quick assessments and interventions while you plan and drive your cases forward in a legally secure manner. The role requires you to be able to shift gears in your workday based on incoming concern reports, safety assessments, and other prioritized events. You work closely with the other social workers at reception but also independently and autonomously. Qualifications We are looking for someone who is passionate about working with children and young people and who has experience meeting families in difficult life situations. You inspire great confidence in others, remain calm and stable in stressful situations, and have the ability to stay motivated and effective despite setbacks. Since this role can involve shifts in your workday based on incoming reports and safety assessments, it is particularly important that you are flexible and have the ability to adapt to new assignments. You should have a degree in social work or meet eligibility requirements with another relevant education of at least 180 higher education credits and have studied social law, administrative law, psychology, and social work. For social work studies, the difficulty level should also increase stepwise. Experience in handling child and youth social care cases is a requirement. Documentation and communication are major parts of our work, so you need to be able to express yourself very well in both speech and writing in Swedish. Training in BBIC is a requirement. Training in Signs of Safety is meritorious. A category B driver's license is a requirement. In this meaningful role, you'll work both investigating and following up with young people in at-risk situations. You collaborate with police, schools, open care services, field assistants, and other key actors to find sustainable solutions. You'll be based in the children and youth unit with other social secretaries, but you'll also work in cross-professional teams. A day in this role is varied and eventful. You might be out in the field meeting with young people and building trust, conducting coordination meetings with schools and police, or conducting risk and safety assessments to ensure the right support is provided in time. You work both strategically and directly with young people, always focusing on strengthening their possibilities and preventing crime and exclusion. At the same time, you're an important part of developing our methods and shaping the future of social services in Avesta. The role includes sharing knowledge and leading in various collaboration forums, both regarding the target group and social services' work in general.
