The Swedish Language subject area at the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences is in a strong development phase. The subject has examination rights up to advanced level. Teaching is provided through standalone courses, courses in teacher education programs, master's programs, and commissioned education. Currently, 10 people work within the subject on full-time and part-time basis, including one professor. Research within the subject has particular strengths in literacy, students' writing development, and subject didactics and educational research. Responsibilities Responsibilities include overall responsibility for research within the subject, conducting own research, teaching, and supervision. The Professor is expected to contribute to developing the subject's research profile and to initiate, lead, and conduct research projects, including applications for external research funding. The role also includes supervising at various levels and contributing to the development of the research environment through collegial collaboration and research-informed education. The Professor is also responsible for developing the subject's role within teacher education with particular focus on subject didactics research and education, and the higher education pedagogical initiative Skrivlyftet at Mid Sweden University.
