Relatives can contact Family Support themselves and are offered a course program or advisory conversation individually. The course program is based on the Minnesota Model's family program, Carina Bång's material for relatives, and Craig Nakken's theory of the dependent personality. The course program is offered to adults over 18 years of age, individually or to several relatives in a family. The course program contains thirteen themes covering addiction knowledge, addiction's impact on the family, emotional consequences, change, parenting with harmful use and addiction, as well as summary and evaluation. Relatives have the same treatment specialist throughout the entire course program, which is expected to result in improving relatives' life situations and increased quality of life. Family Support operates from the facility at Kapellgatan in Jönköping.
