The general practice training is 18 months, with the first 4.5 months covering operating specialties, primarily at Centralsjukhuset in Kristianstad (CSK). Service in acute care emergency at the beginning of AT for 4.5 months occurs partly non-linearly under acute clinic responsibility (daytime and evening) as well as linearly bound surgery and medicine during respective service periods (weekends and nights). You also participate in our medical on-call service 24/7. The back-up on-call physician is always present at the hospital when you are on call. Connected to the hospital is an emergency department with limited hours and an acute care unit. Additionally, Skåne's largest elective orthopedic operation is based here. Within the orthopedic operating area, there is an operating department, outpatient surgical clinic, post-operative recovery, anesthesia department, inpatient beds, and outpatient services. The operating area is expected to perform approximately 5,000 patient procedures in Hässleholm this year and aims to successively increase volume.
