Registered Nurse for the Acute Care Unit/Urgent Care Clinic

Quick decisions are made here – but we think long-term. As a nurse at the Acute Care Unit and Urgent Care Clinic in Köping, you are an important part of a secure and cohesive team. You work closely with physicians, follow patients through the most critical stages of care, and contribute to an operation that grows with the future – where we are serious about staying. Duties As a nurse with us, you work in a varied role that combines clinical excellence with human presence. The work takes place at both the Acute Care Unit and the Urgent Care Clinic, offering a dynamic workday with both high-paced and more stable care situations. At the Urgent Care Clinic, you meet the patient early in their care process. You triage, sort, assess, collect samples, stabilize, and make initial decisions together with physicians. At the Acute Care Unit, patients with acute conditions such as heart attack, stroke, sepsis, and intoxications are treated. It is more of a ward-like setting with high monitoring and advanced medical technology such as CPAP, OptiFlow, and bilevel. You work in a multidisciplinary team where your role is central. Variety in tasks and pace enables you to develop both medically and in your professional judgment. About the Workplace We are a unit with two distinct parts – the Acute Care Unit and the Urgent Care Clinic – but with a shared mission: to provide safe and skilled care to the Västmanland residents who need us. The Acute Care Unit has 9 beds (with capacity for overflow) and is responsible at night for emergency assignments within the hospital. Average length of stay is approximately 2–4 days. The Urgent Care Clinic is an adult medical clinic open day and evening, every day of the year. Patients of all ages come here with all types of concerns – but with a focus on adults. Patients are assessed and referred to the appropriate level of care when needed. We are small enough for you to see the bigger picture, but large enough to offer breadth and development. We work closely with other units in the care chain and have a strong culture of collaboration, responsibility, and patient focus. From day one, you receive an individualized introduction with guidance and a secure start on one unit at a time. We believe that security is the foundation for development – that's why you get to grow at your own pace. Right now, the operation is in an exciting phase where Region Västmanland is investing in new healthcare buildings in Köping. Our unit is an active part of that development – and we welcome you who want to help shape the future of acute care. For us, it is important that you feel good and enjoy your work, so we offer you: a tailored introduction program so you become confident and secure in your professional role opportunities for skills development through, for example, internal training a workplace for all stages of life, so we offer several different work time models, such as three-shift, shift work, and weekend-only service free training at our fully equipped gym wellness allowance of 3000 kr/year More information about your benefits can be found here: https://regionvastmanland.se/jobba-med-oss/dina-formaner/ Curious? Feel free to contact us if you would like to schedule a no-pressure conversation and we can tell you more. Or would you like to come and observe us to get an insight into our work and see our facilities? Contact us and we'll arrange it! Qualifications We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse – or close to graduation – with a genuine interest in acute care. Experience or further education in acute care, cardiac care, or intensive/critical care is a merit. But the most important thing is that you want to be part of it. You need to be able to make your own decisions and feel secure in your professional role – but also thrive in a team where collaboration and trust are central. You need to be flexible in thinking, quick in action, and at the same time maintain the ability to pause – and meet people in vulnerable situations with warmth and respect. We work in life's difficult moments. It requires more than competence – it requires humanity. We place great emphasis on personal suitability. Terms of Employment Permanent employment 100%. Day/evening/night shifts plus 2 weekends out of 5. We offer different work models such as three-shift, shift work, and weekend-only service. Start date by agreement.
