The court now needs to strengthen its capacity with an additional judicial officer to handle a prolonged steady increase in the number of incoming cases. The District Court is small but has a large jurisdiction. The court handles all types of cases and matters normally occurring in a district court in the area from the Norwegian border to several kilometers from the coast. Work at the District Court is characterized by extensive delegation to a very experienced and competent preparation organization.
