The Surgery operational area is one of the largest operations at Centralsjukhuset in Kristianstad and consists of outpatient services with vascular, lower and upper gastrointestinal, and breast/plastic patients. We also have an oncological treatment unit, Acute Surgery Department, Surgery Department, Urology and Vascular Department, Surgical Gynecology, Otolaryngology, and Acute Orthopedic Department. We are an acute surgical care ward with varied and eventful days, where variation is a natural part of the work. We care for patients with trauma and acute surgical conditions such as abdominal pain of unclear origin, ileus, appendicitis, gallbladder and pancreatic diseases, hemorrhages, and infections. The department offers the possibility of continuous monitoring, which creates good conditions for safe and professional care of our more demanding patients. To provide nurses with the best possible conditions, there are supporting functions such as a department pharmacist, who is responsible for medication management and restocking, as well as a daytime coordinator on weekdays who coordinates incoming calls and books transport.
