The Guardian Administration Unit operates on behalf of the Guardian Administration Board, a municipally mandated supervisory authority. The Guardian Administration Board in southern Lapland encompasses the municipalities of Lycksele, Åsele, Dorotea, Sorsele, Vilhelmina, and Storuman. Since July 1, 2026, the Guardian Administration Board has received an expanded mandate with tasks previously handled by district courts being transferred to the board. The operation is therefore in development, and we are now strengthening the organization with additional staff. You handle cases concerning guardianships, trusteeship arrangements, and stewardships, make independent decisions under delegation from the Guardian Administration Board, and prepare cases for the board and district court. You conduct investigations, review accounting documents, handle licensing matters, and prepare statements. The role involves many contacts with, among others, representatives, individuals, family members, courts, and other authorities. You will also recruit and train guardians, trustees, and stewards, and provide information about the unit's area of responsibility.
