Are you resourceful, flexible, and enjoy working with children and young people? Then this position might be right for you. We welcome your application today! Job Responsibilities As a personal assistant, your primary task is to provide support and care based on the individual's assistance decision and established implementation plan. The work is carried out with great respect for the assistance recipient's influence, participation, and self-determination. Documentation is recorded in the social journal. You will work with a child born in 2017 with extensive functional variation who needs daily support in their everyday life. The work tasks are varied and performed primarily in the home. The child lives alternately with their parents, which means you need to be able to commute between the parental homes within the central parts of Örnsköldsvik. One home is located within a radius of approximately 7km from the city center and cannot rely on local transportation in evenings and on weekends. The support includes, among other things, daily care such as personal hygiene, dressing and undressing, transfers, play and activities – with the goal of enabling the child to live as independent and fulfilling a life as possible. An important part of the work is also medical care, where you are responsible for tube feeding and medication administration according to established schedules. You will receive thorough introduction and training in all procedures. Since the child is infection-sensitive and uses medical equipment, hygiene and cleanliness are of the highest priority, both regarding your own hygiene and the child's environment. To ensure a pet-free and safe environment, it is a requirement that you are smoke-free and do not have pet hair on your clothing. The position is 100% and involves work during day, evening, weekends, and on-call shifts. From autumn 2025, activity-adapted schedules (VAS) will be applied, which provides the opportunity for full-time employment within Örnsköldsvik Municipality. We place great emphasis on personal suitability. Qualifications You are trained as a nursing assistant or have education from a child and leisure program, or alternatively other relevant education or experience. We are looking for someone with a genuine interest in working with people and who demonstrates attentiveness, respect, and reassurance when meeting both the child and their family. We would like you to: Have experience in care and support, preferably with knowledge in tube feeding, medication, epilepsy, respiratory aids, or mobility aids. Have experience in medical care (e.g., feeding tube/PEG), which is meriting. Have very good Swedish language skills, both spoken and written, to be able to follow instructions and document correctly. Be attentive and able to adapt to the child's daily condition as well as to each parent's routines and wishes. Be organized and thorough, with the ability to handle documentation and medical procedures correctly. Enjoy established routines and have high work ethic. Have a strong focus on hygiene. Driver's license category B and access to your own car are meriting to facilitate transportation to the workplace. Attach your CV and personal letter with your application. Selection and interviews may take place on an ongoing basis. In the welfare administration, approximately 2,500 employees work. The administration is governed by the Welfare Board based on the administration's mission - "Together we facilitate people's opportunity to live a meaningful life" - we work to achieve the municipality's vision: We build best together. In connection with the interview, we will conduct an identity check and verify citizenship. Accepted documents are passport, international ID card, driver's license + personal certificate from the Swedish Tax Agency, or other identity documentation that confirms citizenship. For some positions, a printout from the police's suspicion and criminal record register is required. We would like to see language skills in Finnish and/or one of the Sámi varieties, as Örnsköldsvik Municipality is part of both the Finnish and Sámi administration areas. In our municipality, a number of positions are placed in security class so security vetting may be conducted. These positions may require Swedish citizenship.
