About the Position As an IT Security Specialist, you will become part of the IT department and IT operations group, which consists of approximately 25 people. You work in a team of 7 people together with another IT Security Specialist and report to the IT Operations Manager. The role is both strategic and operational – you work closely with IT, operations, and external stakeholders, and have great opportunity to influence how we develop our IT security going forward. You will be based at our offices in Librobäck in Uppsala, with the possibility of some remote work based on operational needs. In this role you will combine technology, analysis, and structure. You work both preventively and operatively, and contribute to creating a secure and robust IT environment. You have several years of current and documented experience working with IT infrastructure and IT security, as well as a good understanding of ITIL and IT management (e.g., PM3). You have experience and strong knowledge in: • Strong network understanding (TCP/IP, dynamic routing (BGP), VLAN, switching) • Deep firewall expertise (NGFW) • Experience with application control, IPS/IDS, WAF, TLS inspection • Good OS knowledge in both Windows and Linux environments (hardening) • Security monitoring and log management • Knowledge of microsegmentation/zones, DMZ setups, service and internal traffic flows • VPN and remote access from a security perspective • Troubleshooting and incident support • IAM and AAA/identity (RADIUS/SAML/OIDC), certificates, key management • Scripting/automation You have worked with protecting business-critical systems and have experience identifying, analyzing, and managing information and cybersecurity risks. You are also experienced in incident management, preferably in collaboration with a SOC or equivalent function. You have a good understanding of: • Information classification and protective measures • Access control, logging, backup, and access controls • Risk and vulnerability analyses related to IT systems and information flows • Security monitoring and collaboration between operations, IT, and external vendors As a person, you are organized and confident working independently, while also enjoying collaboration with others.
