WORK DUTIES As a resource pedagogue in our special education group, Flex, you work closely with students who need extra support to develop and succeed according to their circumstances. Your duties include: Support students in their academic, social, and personal development Be a trusted adult support throughout the school day Collaborate with teachers, special educators, student wellbeing staff, and guardians Contribute to creating structure, clarity, and predictability in students' daily lives Support students during instruction, breaks, meals, transitions, and other situations throughout the day Work to strengthen students' independence, participation, and confidence in their own abilities Participate in after-school activities and contribute to meaningful and developmental leisure time. You will be an important part of the school's collective efforts for students requiring special support and will work closely with both the teaching team and student wellbeing staff. Flex is an important resource for students with extensive support needs and also supports the school's broader work with inclusion and accessible learning environments. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone trained as a resource pedagogue or with other pedagogical education or experience that the employer considers equivalent. We place great emphasis on your personal qualities. To thrive and succeed in this role, you need to: Be calm, patient, and persistent Have a strong ability to build relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues Be flexible and able to adapt your approach based on different situations and students' needs Have good communication skills Be responsible and able to work both independently and with others See collaboration as a natural part of the assignment Be a positive role model for students Have the ability to create structure and security even in challenging situations We are looking for someone who shares our conviction that all students can develop and succeed when they meet high expectations, positive relationships, and the right support.
