About the Operation The chief legal counsel position is located in the Office Division within the Regional Board Administration. Here you will find the region's legal function together with the committee team responsible for the political case process. The division currently has five attorneys and a data protection officer who together provide qualified legal support to the political leadership, the regional director, and other management. We are in a development phase where law has increasingly strategic importance, particularly in matters related to digitalization and the use of artificial intelligence. Responsibilities As chief legal counsel, you hold a central and strategic role with overall responsibility for coordinating the region's legal work. You work closely with both political leadership and management and provide qualified support on legal and strategic matters. The assignment includes advising, analyzing, and developing working methods that ensure operations are conducted in accordance with legislation and internal guidelines. The role includes responsibility for the region's whistleblower function, representing the region in collaboration with other regions, and identifying and managing legal risks, including legal investigations and disputes. You contribute to knowledge dissemination through training and support to managers and employees. The work includes, among other things, legal matters related to complex contract issues, procurement matters, and healthcare law, in collaboration with other attorneys within the function. Read more here: Personnel Security - Swedish Security Police (sakerhetspolisen.se) Qualifications Requirements Law degree (Juris Kandidat/Juristexamen) Solid experience with qualified legal investigative work Experience working as a chief legal counsel or equivalent Experience collaborating with various operations, both internally and externally, with strong cooperation skills and responsiveness to others Experience from a politically governed organization or public administration Very good ability to express yourself in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing Merits Practical experience with court proceedings Knowledge in one or more of the following areas: healthcare and medical law, real estate law, contract law, public procurement, and construction law. It is also a merit if you have a good understanding of municipal law principles and their practical application. Notary certification Who Are You?
