ST Physician (Specialty Training) - Infectious Diseases and Pulmonology

The Infectious Diseases and Pulmonology Unit at Visby Hospital has 21 inpatient beds and an outpatient clinic. The unit's mission encompasses infectious medicine, travel medicine and vaccination, pulmonology, and allergology. Specialists are infectious disease physicians with varying degrees of pulmonology and/or allergology expertise, staffing inpatient care, outpatient services, and on-call duties at the emergency department and in home care. The department offers comprehensive services covering all aspects of infectious diseases, pulmonology including pulmonary oncology, and allergology. Our goal is to provide patients with high-quality care, patient safety, and accessibility, while ensuring patients and their families feel involved and well-informed. Your Responsibilities The Infectious Diseases and Pulmonology Unit is responsible for all acute and elective care of patients with infectious and pulmonary diseases. The position includes standard ward and outpatient work as well as emergency department work as infectious disease on-call physician. During your ST (specialty training), you will be trained in consultation and backup on-call activities. Teaching and mentoring of medical students and physicians in continuing education is included. If interested, the position can be combined with research and development work as well as leadership development. On-call duties within infectious diseases and pulmonology are included once the ST physician has achieved the required competence.
