Vehicle Operator - Locomotive Driver Local Position at SJ

The training leads to your locomotive driver's license and provides you with a solid introduction to the profession. Your upcoming role Before SJ's passengers board the train, an exciting job awaits you as a vehicle operator at the depot. You are responsible for ensuring that trains can operate safely and on schedule for our passengers. Your work tasks are crucial for the operation to function. Your employment as a vehicle operator begins with 13 weeks of paid training where you obtain a driver's license for locomotive shunting after examination. Following the training, you will receive a comprehensive introductory period to help you develop further in the role. The work is performed largely outdoors and in three shifts, giving you an active and physical workday at Hagalunds depot in Solna. Your work tasks: Drive trains to and from the workshop and wash facility. Preparation to check safety before departure. Drive trains through automatic wash to keep them clean. Drive and arrange cars from incoming to outgoing trains. Expectations for the person we seek You are responsible, safety-conscious, and have good communication skills. Taking initiative and making decisions independently comes naturally to you. You thrive in varied work and have the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. In a group, you are an unpretentious team player with strong collaboration skills and are willing to ask for help when needed. Curiosity and interest in machinery, vehicles, and particularly trains are advantageous. Approved upper secondary school grades. Fluent Swedish in speech and writing.
