The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care (Statens institutionsstyrelse, SiS) is an authority responsible for individualized involuntary care for youth with complex psychosocial problems and for adults with substance abuse issues. SiS also carries out closed youth care. We do this at youth homes and facilities for adults with substance abuse issues throughout the country. At SiS, your work life becomes an exciting challenge. SiS Youth Home Margretelund receives non-school-age girls and boys with psychosocial problems, criminal backgrounds, and substance abuse issues. We have operations in Lidköping and near Falköping. Job Description Do you want to be part of creating vital change for vulnerable people? Then the job as a treatment educator at SiS is a meaningful challenge. As a treatment educator, you work in a team together with treatment assistants and treatment coordinators, and together you are responsible for ensuring that the youth and clients living with us receive the security, care, and treatment they need. We often meet people in crisis, which means you work with qualified care and motivation work and provide support in everyday life. With the support of your knowledge in care and treatment work, you actively contribute to ensuring that treatment plans are carried out. Documentation is an important part of your work and contributes to legal certainty, planning, and follow-up of our operations. You contribute to maintaining security according to our routines and participate in keeping daily life running smoothly with schooling, cleaning, cooking, and more. Being a contact person is also one of your tasks. The work may also include serving as a mentor to new employees and interns. This is a job for someone who sees a positive challenge in working with vulnerable people in difficult life situations. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied. Our vision is to be a place for change, and this permeates our approach, commitment, and attitude. Work hours are scheduled night shifts. As a new employee, you will complete a 10-week SiS basic training program. The training combines theory with guided introduction, equipping you for the treatment role in SiS operations. Qualifications To succeed in your work, you have a firmly grounded positive view of people. You are motivated to help people in vulnerable life situations and you share SiS core values of being a place for change. Furthermore, you have a strong ability to create engagement and participation among our youth. As a person, you are confident in yourself and find it easy to build relationships with young people as well as with others in the staff group. You have good communication skills and can remain calm even in pressured situations. You collaborate easily with others and can handle conflicts constructively. You should also have: Degree from a 2-year post-secondary education at a folk high school or vocational college (KY/YH) with focus on social/pedagogical treatment work or education from university that we deem equivalent Class B driver's license Good Swedish in speech and writing It is also advantageous if you have: Experience working with people in vulnerable life situations, e.g., work in psychiatry or in disability care (LSS) Experience from client-facing positions in the Swedish Prison and Probation Service, e.g., as a Correctional Officer Security guard training Education in care and health services Experience working with our target group At SiS, we value good teamwork.
