Research Area To reduce health inequalities and promote a good start in life, Gothenburg City and the Västra Götaland Region have implemented the parenting support program Extended Home Visits according to the Rinkeby Model. The program is offered in prioritized areas to first-time parents and to parents who have other children but are having their first child in Sweden. The home visiting program is part of a family-centered approach and is conducted by teams consisting of nurses from child health care and parenting support staff – preventive social workers employed by social services or Angered Community Hospital. The program complements the regular child health care program and provides families with six home visits during the child's first 15 months. Previous studies have examined the implementation of the program in Gothenburg and its short-term effects for parents and children. The current research project constitutes a long-term follow-up that aims to examine the effects and experiences of the program over time. The study follows children and parents until the children are five years old and focuses on long-term outcomes regarding children's health and development, parents' trust in health care and other societal actors, and perceived parenting competence. The project also includes a health economic analysis. Duties As a researcher in the project, you will have a central role in driving and coordinating one of the sub-studies within the research project.
