About the Department/Group
You will be part of the Department of Fiber and Polymer Technology (FPT), Sweden's leading academic environment for research and education in polymers, fibers, cellulose-based materials, and sustainable technologies. FPT combines fundamental science with societal benefit through close collaboration with industry and research partners.
As part of the Fiber Processes and Technology division, you will work in an ambitious and interdisciplinary team developing a new class of electronically tunable cellulose-based membranes that enable adaptive and digitally controlled separation processes. The research is led by Assistant Professor Tobias Benselfelt and focuses on nanofibrillary materials, electrochemically controlled membranes, and digitalized separation processes. Responsibilities
The position involves research within the DynanoNet project, including:
- Conducting independent research within the project's field.
- Coordinating experimental work in collaboration with a doctoral student.
- Presenting research results at project meetings, workshops, and international conferences.
- Documenting and reporting project activities and progress.
The successful candidate may also contribute to mentoring and supervision of doctoral and master's students.
Qualifications
Requirements
- Completed PhD in materials science, chemical engineering, polymer science, electrochemistry, membrane science, or another field relevant to the project. This qualification requirement must be met by the time the employment decision is made.
- Very good ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing. Very strong English proficiency is necessary for effective communication in an international research environment.
- Good ability to write scientific texts and to present and communicate research results.
Personal Qualities
To succeed in this role, you need to be responsible, independent, motivated, curious, and well-organized. You have good collaborative skills and enjoy working in interdisciplinary research environments.
Merits
- At the application deadline, no more than three years since obtaining your PhD or a foreign degree deemed equivalent to a PhD.
- Research experience in one or more of the following areas: membrane science, electrochemistry, transport phenomena, nanofibrillar materials, cellulose nanofibrils, hydrogels, or filtration technology.
- Experience with electrochemical characterization techniques, including impedance spectroscopy, cyclic voltammetry, and/or chronoamperometry.
- Experience designing and building experimental setups or research equipment.
- A strong scientific publication record demonstrating research independence.
- Documented creativity, innovation ability, and capacity to develop new research ideas.
- Awareness of diversity and equal treatment issues with particular focus on gender equality.

About the Employment
